Mission Statement

HISTORY:Founded by King Ludwig I of Bavaria in 1866. Recognised by the State as a 'Gymnasium' (secondary school) in 1884.In 1942 the school was closed, but re-opened in 1945.The school was recognised as a full secondary school ('Vollgymnasium') in 1970, the first 'Abitur' was in 1973. In 1974 the school reached college level and has been a 'European Gymnasium' since 1994/95.There is day boarding for all pupils and a wide choice of syllabus. Both the school and the monastic community are housed in the same buildings.FINANCE:Bavarian school finance laws apply. There is a Diocesan subsidy and independent management of the school.
